Coaching & Support For

Hearing Loss

Becoming deaf, or having hearing loss comes with lots of different issues.

Not being able to hear conversations is isolating, feeling left out of social situations or not following what’s being said is frustrating, and can make you feel separate from everyone else.

It may cause difficulties at work, the constant worry that you will mishear something and make a mistake.

You may feel anger or sadness about what’s happened and try to avoid getting help. You may worry that it will get worse.

Coaching can help you to come to terms with what’s happened and stop you from getting pulled around by difficult feelings.

It can help you to feel present with those you care about again, and focus on what’s really important in your life.

During our coaching sessions we can create a plan for moving forwards. This could include:

  • Gaining the skills and confidence to advocate for yourself so your needs are met.

  • Working out communication strategies to support you in different situations.

  • Creating a self care plan to improve your wellbeing.

  • Setting boundaries and priorities.

  • Building resilience skills and planning your future.

The sessions are delivered via Zoom, usually in blocks of 6 weeks. Captions and chat are enabled for all calls. There will be email support and you will have access to any exercises or mindfulness meditations used between sessions.

Whether you have hearing loss yourself, or are the parent or partner of someone with hearing loss and need some support, I’m happy to chat with you about what you need.
